advisory services for Swedish speaking farmers in Finland

Association of Rural Advisory centres - SLF is the central
organization of the Swedish speaking rural advisory centres in Finland.
The
Agricultural and Economical societies in Finland give advice and planning
help to farmers
and rural enterprisers.
The organization
Association of Rural Advisory Centres (SLF)
situated
in Helsinki, is the
central organization of the Swedish speaking rural
advisory centres
in Finland. SLF is
responsible for the co-ordination of activities and development
of tools for management and software for

Agricultural and Economical Societies
(i.e. Rural Advisory Centres)
situated
in Nyland (NSL),
Åboland (FHS)
Österbotten (ÖSL) and
the Åland Islands (ÅHHS)
(see map below).
Offer farmers and
other rural enterprisers a large selection of different consulting
services, work as a leader and initiative-maker for development projects
and organize public advisory events concerning current issues and
questions.
Farmers’ guilds
make up
local networks of non-profit
groups which activate rural
enterprises, organizes
lecture- evenings, study-circles etc. The farmers’ guilds work in close
co-operation with the
other organizations in the region, like the producers, the Martha-
movement
and the 4H-clubs.
Objectives
In a time of rapid changes the advisor finds the vital data needed for
cost hunting, economical planning, finishing
production processes and obtains information about new spheres of
activities for enterprises. The advisor also acts as a coach in testing
new ideas about
enterprising together with the enterpriser. The mutual goal is a
profitable, competitive
activity which also includes high quality on products, services and
processes, low negative
effects on the environment and also keeping an open mind
to
supplementary income
possibilities.
